Empress of the Victorian Halfcrowns? The Currency 1839

    I received a request to post some half crowns, and possibly some florins, and so here is another. I had unbelievable fortune to acquire this from Glendining's just about 20 years ago, and I do believe it would have to be considered amongst the very finest currency Victorian Halfcrowns in existence, taking into account not just beauty, but rarity as well:

    Thanks for that. Even though I have some other rarities I like this one perhaps best. I like to think the Tyrant collection would not be able to match - I hate the idea of one collector of fabulous means can dominate and hold ALL the best coins.
