Right...but, if you were standing outside when you said it, you'd be a nut. This guy is obviously a nut if he thinks so strongly about the coin that he can charge an exuberant amount for it...even though it doesn't exist. I could claim for a million dollars up front I'll find and deliver you a unicorn, and based on this logic, you couldn't say that it couldn't be done. Of course, I'd know I couldn't, and you'd be out a million bucks. Guy~
I really wish they made strait jackets for cats. My cat keeps biting me.... That means he wants his dinner. I gotta go feed him, ill be right back.
Here's an auction for a similar 1954-D cent at $66,000 http://cgi.ebay.com/1954-Contiguous...14&_trkparms=72:1205|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318 and another for a 1958-D cent at $25,000 http://cgi.ebay.com/1958-D-Contiguo...14&_trkparms=72:1205|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
One way to reduce the number of listing like this is for the auction site to charge more for the listing. On eBay such a listing costs $4.00 and that isn't much. How about a nominal fee like 1% of the opening bid ($500 in this case.) But then we wouldn't get NEARLY as much entertainment.
I may have a few of these. Do you think the seller will want to buy mine for 25% of his selling price??????
