We seem to think alike Jim. It's a bit easier though to just put an empty Air-Tite in water for about 1/2 hour. When you take it out, there will be water inside.
this is an old thread. I'm talking top ghosts. That being said, I could never sell off the whole collection like that. Its just not my nature. Do you ever miss all your coins? Ruben
How is it better than a slab then? There are no truly virtually vacuumed slabs? I figured the ring was to create an airfree container, like a gasket. Ruben
Don't know that anybody ever said it was better than a slab, I certainly didn't. They are a lot cheaper though. The ring is more of preference thing, because you like the look. Has nothing to do with anything other than that. Yeah, I miss the coins now n then. But I'm not unhappy about selling them.
LOL ! - thanks but no thanks Ruben. I'm done with collecting coins. My son still collects, he has more than a few from my collection. I can always look at his.
<Sigh> First it was the Berlin Wall, now Air-Tites. Ah. There is no sanctuary for the weary soul .........
I use Capital Plastic holders for all my Raw sets. Great protection and they make a great looking display.
TV, Sorry for just now responding to this, have had a lot going on lately, none of it really good, not a lot of it really bad either thankfully. As for the $20.00 2x2's I say we start manufacturing them, in bulk! I am still looking at other holders, folders, etc and have not found any that have caught my eye. As stated previously i do like Dansco due to the color (brown with gold lettering) and there very sturdy. Read some of the messages on air tite holders. kind of misleading aren't they, if there not air tight, lol. How would one store the for easy viewability? I am sure that was previously explained, but i did not see it, and yes i am being lazy as well. Sorry guys. lol. Regards, S
Air Tites... Currently, I have most of my coins in Air Tite Holders (black ring). I mainly collect higher grade circulated coins (VF-EF) so the direct fit doesn't work for me (coins rattle around in the holders). However, I have shifted my Mercury Dime collection to an Eagle Album (like the Dansco/Whitman but with plastic pages) since it is easier to manage and I like the album presentation better.
