Hi im having problems with this coin im trying to identify. I cannot find any pictures of it on the net. My digital camera has broke down =( so im going to have to just describe what it looks like. On the front side it says: In commemeration of the 60th year of H.M.Reign. There is a picture of a swan swimming, and is bordered by a shield. On the reverse side it says: Victoria Queen and Empress 1837 - 1897. There is a picture of victoria. I figure its some kind of jubilee medal/coin but i cannot find one like it on the net. Any help would be great, and value please. It is in FINE contidition
I'd say it identifies itself. Rather obviously a medal to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Victoria's reign.
LOL sorry Ruben but that was funny (and true) :hail: On to the Queen Victoria medal, there were numerouse (and I mean litteraly hundreds) different designs issued by just about anyone who could produce them for the 60th anniversery of her reign, not only were they produced here in the UK but all across the British Empire and in just about most metals LOL here are a couple that I have in my collection :kewl:
Those are really nice. Just where would I get one of those, and what sort of prices would I be looking at? Not necessarily identical to the two posted, but a jubilee medal in general. Aside: I wonder how much difficulty those Victorians had putting "SEX"agenary on the medal. LOL
