I really wanted one of these, but held off. I saw a Craigslist (oops) ad for $400, but decided it wasn't worth the risk...he dropped the price to $380 so I decided to at least give it a look. He had all the government packaging and the paperwork, so I got one for $380...beautiful coin!
Even more irritating is the fact the Mint threw these out there after overlooking the 75th anniversary of the war’s end. So go manufacture a rarity.
Okay thank you for the heads up. And I’m new to all this I have so many coins I want t ask about but I don’t wan to o get to n anyone’s nerves. Thanks again for info.
Very good advice. Those of us who don't care for the mint's current offerings can ignore them. Those who find it intriguing should participate. Collect what you enjoy, that's what it's all about. Heck, if you can snipe a low mintage modern commemorative and flip it for big money (or save it for your collection), more power to you.
Don't worry about getting on anyone's nerves - ask all the questions you want. If some folks appear rude or impatient, don't let it bother you. Be humble, learn from their experience and knowledge and don't worry about the rest. Keep an open mind and you can learn a lot here. There are no stupid questions. Post up your coins. Oh yeah, we love pictures!
Ok well here’s a few of them.ok on the wheat penny is it 1942 or 1943 cause when you turn it one way it looks like 43. Idk but let me know if y’all know what these are. And Thanks alot
Your first coin, the 1800 dollar, is extremely harshly cleaned. It's a shame. Was a nice looking coin.
If you sent it in to any of the TPG's they'd return it to you as 'details', unslabbed. Meaning they would not grade it.
@Michael Douglas One more rule of order to note. When posting questions about a subject unrelated to the topic of the thread you're posting in, it is considered rude and bad etiquette. You really should start your own thread. In addition, when posting pix it is much easier for others to view them if you post them as 'Full Image', not 'Thumbnail'.
