My wife and I came across this last weekend at a yard sale. I purchased an incomplete set of buffalos and in the back of the book this was in one of the coin slots. I tried to do a little research on my own but came up empty.
The coin weighs 8.1 grams. it measures .83 inches across and .15 inches thickness.
I guess all of the obvious questions apply. What is it and where did it come from, is it real and is it worth anything?
Thanks for the help, my curiostity has got hold of me.

Its a 3rd century AD tetradrachm from Roman Egypt, struck under Emperor Probus. Year six, so 280-281 AD. Its absolutely genuine. Value fluctuates a lot on these, they're fairly common though.
