I like craft beers and fencing, usually not at the same time.

I just picked up two of these:
Screen Shot 2020-05-21 at 7.29.53 PM.png a 10-inch and an 8-inch from the equipment manager of my local astronomy club. These are about 25 or 30 years old. The 8-inch has a bad board that cannot be fixed or replaced. I am taking that one to work to see if we can cobble a different encoder or something and drive it with that. The 10-inch works. My regular instruments are a 5-1/4 inch reflector and a 2-3/4 refractor. So, this will be a real treat for me. And I have plenty of time to read the manual because we have ten days of rain in the forecast.

You have very good taste in cologne. My personal favorite is Prada Carbon then Acqua Di Gio Armani. I used to use Polo Sport way back.

Board repair on a 25-30-year-old device? You have my attention!

I don't have good enough time-management skills to seriously volunteer help, but I do have lots of electronic troubleshooting gear, and a real bad attitude toward "no user-serviceable parts inside"... :shifty:

Beautiful gun. And an excellent example to keep and admire.

Thanks. You have good ones too. The new Aqua Di Gio, Absolu Instinct is surprising REALLY good. I got a couple samples of it .

My other hobby is that I write. It is also my job. As a technical writer, I get paid to write what other people want. I enjoy it. I do it well. But it is not internal to myself. For that, I have a blog, Necessary Facts (https://necessaryfacts.blogspot.com). I started it on January 2, 2011. I have posted 636 articles, steadily, about five a month. I write about whatever interests me. The articles fall into about a dozen broad categories: numismatics, astronomy, science, philosophy, mathematics, food and drink in Austin, criminology, the military. At the close of just about all I put links to four (or more) articles, usually related to the essay topic, but often on very different subjects.
All time stats as of 2020-05-22 at 6.15.48 AM.png
    Total statistics

Although I have had 328,741 page views, I have only seven followers. Oddly, many of my readers come from Russia. I have been concerned about security flaws and taken down an article that seemed to have attracted far too much attention for a minor piece.

Sometimes, people leave comments; and occasionally, I respond to them. Also, sometimes a spammer will post a pointless message with a link to their own product, and I report those and delete them, of course.

Mostly, I have no idea who reads me or why. I never sought search engine optimization or revenue. I write for myself. When I want to get paid for my writing, I document information systems for producers and their users. NecessaryFacts is all about me.

Put these words in the search box and you can read whatever you want: numismatics, astronomy, science, economics, criminology, women, philosophy, entrepreneurship, military, leadership, and (of course) Ayn Rand.

Lately, at times, I've been going three days w/o showering I wonder what my "musk" smells like?

I have to use Unna Boots on my legs, so for economy's sake I take a full shower every three days, washing in the sink on the non-shower days. My insurance pays for only 30 applications per year. I never cared for the smell of Musk, though, I use Old Spice.

It has a very interesting shape of a cat and it was cheap and I do not have a poly cat.

My latest (I might as well call it a hobby) is going to ZOOM meetings all day and frequently all night.

    ZOOM_GRAPHIC.jpg

I’m often in my bathrobe because the first thing I do when I return home after making my rounds is to throw my clothes into the washing machine and scrub down in the shower. I’m also suffering from a bad case of quarantine hair.

I’m envious of your superb assortment of men’s cologne, @HAB Peace 28 2.0 ! I’ve stopped wearing cologne because it has a tendency to clash with the BENGAY that I’m using on my bruised ribs*. ;)

*I had a fall on a flight of stairs a few weeks ago

I’m sorry to hear that. There’s nothing worse than a (uncontrollable) fall. I’ve had a few myself . Thank you for the compliment. I hope you fully recover soon.

Thanks, @Alegandron ! I attribute the mishap to—standing up too fast after waking from a nap and rushing to answer my cellphone which was downstairs :(:oops:
