I got a 64 quarter and 2 silver Ike dimes in my change this past 2 weeks..No biggie as people have to be hitting the change jar because of this lockdown. Also got 6 "65" quarters which has to have come from the same person. Now other than the silver coins which I usually notice right away, I just recently saw the 65 dated quarters as I put my change on my kitchen table when I come home so I don't know if they came from the same store, but had to be? This is a strange one though. Yesterday morning I got a dark nasty dark 92 quarter and ended up using to buy a Snickers bar in a vending machine by the afternoon. This is where it gets strange. I saw this exact date and dark coin that someone is selling on ebay. I believe strongly its a fraud but what are the chances of getting the exact same 92 date and dark coin. Did the mints have a issue in 1992?
It's a 1992 environmentally damaged coin and asking $50 is ridiculous. Paying anything over a quarter is foolish.
That seller has a bunch of so called error coins and keeps a 100% ebay feedback score. One coin was said to have extra metal because of a broken die, but the pick looked like they tack welded on a tiny blob of metal. Have to be kidding me It's so easy to manipulate ebays feedback score I get it, but I think buyers really have to believe they got a rare error coin??
I think your assumptions are correct and that you made an excellent choice in using that quarter for a nice Snickers bar.
They must have minted hundreds of millions of 1965 quarters. I regularly come across them frequently, especially at change machines at the carwash. Some are in outstanding shape, while others not so great. I've held onto only a couple though, only because they are in such great shape for their age. The other quarter I come across just as frequently is the bicentennial quarter. They had to have made a billion of those.
I wan't to message these ebay sellers so so so bad but I know that what I would say would get me permantly banned from ebay VistaCruiser69, come to think of it I was at the car wash about 2 weeks ago. Coins most likely were from there.. Nice wagon by the way!
Nice finds (and the correction on the "IKE" dime! ). Do you ever check out the '65's for the doubling? It's very easy to spot.
Wow thanks for the pics and heads up BamBam.. No I didn't know. Quick checked a few 65's just now, and no luck I'll dig through later for more of them.. On another note, I started back in collecting about 10 months ago after 25 years of laying back. About 3 weeks ago I turned my head sideways to reach for something behind me and I got a brutal dizzy spell. I instantly starting getting these spells regular if I look down, to the right, to the left and when I lay down. On top of that iv'e always had a essential tremor so I use a cup type magnifying glass on a table. Of all times to get these dizzy spells is now that I kinda got back into coins I did a conference call appointment with my Dr and all he did is call in a med. His office is on shutdown till who knows. I just got wicked dizzy looking at the 65's LoL! I'm babbling here but wow this stinks. Yup, BamBam I couldn't get the first post to delete when I made the mistake of quoting it.
Thanks, its new to me and it's freaking me out. I haven't been driving lately. Edit: Is that BamBam in the fridge?
