I did another Metal Detecting Hunt at the great spot where I have found many silver and Wheats Cents. I had to cut the trip short due to a crazy headache that was slowing me down But I did find another US Coin - Silver Barber Dime 1916.. My 3rd one! And 4 more US Wheat Cents - I also found about 10 inches deep a neat relic - It's a.. Wollensak Rochester 8X Telescope Here is the internet info on it - And the rest...
Wow, look how many you found with missing clad layers. Finding a telescope is pretty cool. When was the magazine ad from? 50's
Very nice finds. I'm sure the telescope was a surprise to you. You'll have to go back when the headache clears.
I wanted to do 6 hours but only did 3. Oh well, everything happens for a reason. But I'm definitely going back!
Haha.. I have many that I will soon dump into a CoinStar machine.. When they go back into general circulation we will probably see a lot of new threads titled.. "Missing Clad on Both sides.. What's it worth?"
When I woke up this morning I remembered a weird dream a had. I always tell my dreams to my wife since she's like to see if she can interpret them. She interprets in a Christian viewpoint and not secular. In the dream I saw someone throw out a black tote and they walked away. I was curious so I went to check it out. Inside I found a pair of binoculars that were labled X10 Power. In the dream I was excited and said that I will keep them since I always wanted binoculars. So.. Today I went metal detecting and to my surprise I found buried in soft soil about 10 inches deep a antique handheld telescope X8 power. I was amazed and excited! I told my wife and she said the dream and my find must mean something good. She will try to interpret it.
After you're done searching, I'd love to know where you're finding these old coins. Those coins had to have been lost a half-century ago or longer, and have gone unnoticed all this time. Also funny they advertise the telescope is good for spying on girls at the beach. That wouldn't go over well in today's world.
