Earlier this morning I was walking to get me cigs and found $0.33 on the ground..I picked it up got home and this is what I found..it is definitely a 1992 Wide A.M. is this a DDO As well??..I mean it kinda looks as if its been struck 2-3 times
Ahh...hell it is worth keepin...ir I keep it 10..20yrs it b worth more than the 2cent I'm gettin from yu....why everyone on here got to b so damn negative in the way yall respond to someone...hell I post the pics I do inorder to obtain knowledge deemed worthy....the very least yu could have done was gave an explanation on yur response...
The reason @cpm9ball said that, is because the error is actually a close AM, not wide. And, the coin has a lot of damage too. Also, not ddo from what I can see on the pictures.
@Mike Keese, take a few seconds/minutes/hours to do some research before getting too excited. I applaud the enthusiasm but you could've saved yourself some time (and a few snarky responses) if you did some quick google searches. Also, some basic grammar and correct spelling would go a long ways. Lastly, quit the cigs, gives you more money for coins
Common sense would b to help someone out..if there wrong..there wrong...explain your reasoning and encourage them to keep searching....a lot of collectors on here are real true pieces of work...unless talking to a member that is known or even the curator...
Mike: Common sense would be to help someone out..If they're wrong..they're wrong...Explain your reasoning and encourage them to keep searching....A lot of collectors on here are real true pieces of work...Unless talking to a member that is known or even the curator... According to your profile, you have been collecting for 12 years. That amount of time would tell me that you should have some basic knowledge of what you are doing and/or what to look for.
Collecting every Canadian penny...quarter...nickel...dime..and half cent coins acquired from grandfather...bc I have been collecting for 12yrs. .that doesnt mean I am fully acknowledged on some of the coins I own...just started looking at them the past 8months.. ...8 months outta 12yrs leaves 136 months they were left sitting untouched and not looked at...I figured I could come here for some enlightenment on coins..but seems yu get more negative feedback than a thankful helpful acknowledged response....
No, not usually. You just need to ask a question and wait for a good answer, and not get mad at responses that may seem rude to you.
Mike, Several things... Quit Smoking. This is possibly the dumbest health practice that is easily correctible. The coin error sought for 1992 is the Close AM (as explained). Your coin has environmental damage. No to DDO/DDR. Not worth grading or keeping for any amount of time. It is suitable for re-interment. If you use common sense and not You Tube-sense you will be a better collector. You will only get accurate information here on Coin Talk. A lot will be negative for the kind of coin you posted. Quite often, you need to grow a thicker skin. IMO...Spark
I have deff been waitin on responses from anyone and everyone...I have made a few responses...I have gotten answers for all of my posts..many questions are asked and many more are answered..its not 1 here 1 there..a lot of the threads I have read there has been atleast 1 or 2 negative crude comments to peoples questions...
I use many different forums and I do use the online redbook...YouTube is a joke....Ebay..a joke....etsy..a joke....sprucecrafts seems knowledgeable..varietyvista.....until I have seen one in person...some of the posts I thread will not be the hope or luck anyone is after...so getting a real answer to the simple 4 word answers" nope, she a spender) comments and explain wat to b lookin for..maybe such as die markers..or any other answer besides the lame 4 word responses yu get Edited. Language.
If you use Red Book and other resources like you say then how did you Not know that the 1992 was Close AM an Error and Not the Side AM? You should Research Info on your Coin before opening up a thread and getting your Feelings Hurt.
I suggest that you learn to better photograph your posted coins, along with a lesson or two in writing. Most of the members here won't take the time to try and clean up bad photos posted by other members. Also, always post FULL IMAGE photos, not thumbnail, with full, cropped, pictures of the entire coin, obverse and reverse, without background. Proper lighting and focus are also very important as you are asking members to give you advice from a photograph, not the actual coin. Good luck in your education.
Hello Mike, normal 1992 cents have a WIDE-AM which is what yours has. The desirable error to be looking for is the 1992 CLOSE-AM, which yours is not. And like mountain man said, clear, full image photos help us the most so we can see what you are seeing.
