    I already had one of these 38-S Mercury dimes, but it has a gouge in the face. This one doesn't.

    It was above my ceiling too, but I sold a generic $5 gold piece to fund it. I couldn’t resist putting the money toward something with numismatic significance.

    Here’s another coin I bought from the same GC auction, my first ever experience on that venue. I saw this with a low price without much time left and put in a bid that was still rock bottom, and won it. I was surprised considering prices on things seem to be hot as of late. I thought someone would bid up the tab toning.
