So I got this in a lot. I think the Legend says SIG:III D:G:REX: PO : M: D : L which translates to Sigismund III, with God's Grace, King of Poland and Great Duke of Livonia. Has a 2 and a 3 so could be 1623...but I don't know the denomination and searching Numista doesnt bring up much other than a 3 Grossus coin with a portrait which this one does not have. Weighs .4 g
On Numista, you have to look under Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and 1623. It could be a Ternar. --- Edward Smith
Here is a 1958 copper wheat penny that weighs 2.5 grams I have weigh over a thousand of these from 1909 - 1958 and this is the only copper wheat I’ve ever found that weighs 2.5 Anyone have another?
Why are you asking on this world coin thread about a modern US coin? Go start your own thread somewhere else.
I think I finally figured it out. In the Polish-Lithuantian Commonwealth section of Numista. Is a Szelag = 1/3 Grosza. KOP #3456. Zygmunt III Waza (Wilno Mint). Thanks @Edward Smith for getting me on the right track! With only one side it was tough but the reverse you can make out a few letters of Solidvs now that I know what is in the Legend.
Now as to value...prices are all over the place. Mostly pretty low in the 5 to 10 dollar range, but some varieties are a bit higher.
