Just wondering if anyone has bought from Londen Ancient Coins on vcoins?
They seem to place a lot of coins with ok prices imo...They've put up a few coins that I'm interested in so I wrote via their contact address and also wrote via one of the said coins that I would like to buy and asked if they allowed layaway, what were their terms etc..It has been 2 days with no response is this a concern or am I being too impatient!....Customer relations for me is one of the most important criterias when buying coins so was wondering if others have had any experience of this seller?...Must admit I'm hoping it's me being impatient as I could quite happily pick away at their stock for the next 6 months but I need good communication....Open to any replies thanks..

I've had nothing but positive experiences with LAC. Also, they have been responsive to communications.

I will never shop with LAC again, when I first started out on ancients I bought a coin off them for about £30 however I ended up returning it, was the first time ever returning an item so I didn't realise I had to send it tracked so I just sent it just first class. Didn't get a reply back from them for weeks then I get a message saying they never received the coin back even though they relisted it on their ebay page.

Thanks Donna I'm glad you've received a good service.....What would you say was a reasonable length of time to wait for a response?
@Yorkshire ....Sorry to hear about your bad experience...Why did you return it?

Did you contact them through VCoins? I would wait another day or two and then write them again, taking the "in case you didn't get my message approach." After all, I don't know how big their staff is at the moment, and they're all presumably working from home given the present situation. And I don't know how efficient VCoins is in forwarding messages. In any event, I've had no problems with receiving shipments which they sent from the UK to the USA, despite the present situation -- I've paid for them to use DHL Express, and the several coins I've ordered have all arrived within 48 hours.

@Yorkshire: when they relisted the coin you had sent back to them, and claimed they had never received it from you, couldn't you prove from comparing their photos of the coin you bought and the coin they relisted that it was the same coin?

I sent them loads of messages at the time but never got a reply so I gave up

Very strange to commit that kind of fraud over £30! I guess you must have decided that it wasn't worth the tsuris of continuing to try to get that amount of money back.

I don't consider it impatience in the digital age, when communication is instant. There's no excuse for a business going more than a day without replying to an email, especially being an online business. It's like expecting you to be fine with walking into a store, asking a question, and being made to stand there waiting days for an answer.

I agree that it shouldn't be considered impatience. On the other hand, in the present situation, I might tend to give a dealer the benefit of the doubt if there's any delay in responding. As I said, they've responded promptly to the several inquiries I've made (e.g., about whether I could get any kind of discount on a coin in which I was interested, or what their current experiences are in sending packages to the USA). Once I even got an answer on a weekend.

This was my thinking too.......But I do agree with @DonnaML at the moment things are maybe a little bit more difficult and they do have a lot of coins flying around, and yes my contacts were both through vcoins....

A lot of dealers work Wednesday --> Sunday so they follow the show schedule. Just because there are no shows doesn't mean people won't follow their established schedule
