Grading advice, please be gentle

    Before the fingerprints, MS-62, Proof-Like. After the fingerprints, MS-60, P-L.

    If the fingerprints were addressed early, something could have been done. Now, nothing is possible.

    I still think an MS70, NaOH, KOH treatment is worth trying.

    Yup, we agree. But the odds of the TPGs ever actually doing it are pretty much zero !

    Ehhhh, you could dip the coin and almost certainly remove the fingerprints. BUT - it depends on how deeply they are etched into the surface. Typically, it's shallow enough that dip will remove them.

    I'll bet that they are etched into the surface and that a shadow of them will remain. It does not take much for something to show on a Proof or P-L coin. That one of the reasons why I don't like most P-L coins.
