It's Election Day in America! Vote For your Favorite Dead president!!!!

Good Morning, everyone!

I thought that since it is Election day here in the US, that we would have our own little poll:

Of all of the US coin designs, which dead president do you like best? NOT which series do you collect, but what design do you like the best?

There are tons to choose from! From the cent to the new presidential dollars, commemorative silver and gold. Vote early! (as we say in Chicago) Vote often!!! but VOTE!!!

Whose portrait is the best and why? Is it inspiring? Does it make you proud to be an american?

I will include a poll that includes the 5 current static designs for a topic poll, but don't limit yourself to them and don't be unimaginative in why you like it!

I really do like the kennedy half dollar, but the nickel's new obverse is pretty cool and I like the writing on liberty. (Does that mean I am an undecided voter? LOL) I guess I will go with the new nickel's obverse.

 

Tough choice, but I have made the most on my Washington (eagle reverse) quarters, so, he da man!

 

This was a hard choice for me, I was torn between the Lincoln Cent and the Kennedy Half. I ended up picking Lincoln but I almost flipped a coin on it (oh yeah, pun totally intended).

 

I hate them all. They should go back to nude women and birds.

I he to go with President Kennedy for the design of the coin and he was a great president in my eyes.

This is the only good idea that I have heard in a long time!

(especially the nude women part.)

 

All of these designs have been used my entire life. However, I must sentimentally claim Kennedy as my favorite, since it went into production my birth year.

I voted for the Jefferson Nickel of course. I hate the Roosevelt, sorry Truman dime design, and never really cared for the Lincoln Cent. The Washington Quarter obverse is nice but the reverse is way too busy. I like the Kennedy design both obverse and reverse, but in the end, I had to go with my current favorite collection.

Pick a president

If I must pick a president's head that has already been used on a coin, then it would be Lincoln.

I have a 20th century type set on the wall in front of me. Over any of the presidents, I would choose one of the Liberty Head designs (Indian, Mercury, Barber, Peace, Morgan, etc). The liberty design could be a bust or standing or walking. Liberty is more attractive than any past president (so far).

Now if we ever had a lady president, then perhaps I could see the merit in Ruben's earlier post.

Would have to go with Kennedy I suppose.... one of my favorite modern coins and like the elegant simplicity of it. It's a great portrait.
