As always proofs are hard to judge from photos.
I see nothing wrong with this one-and it actually might be better (and appears to show some cameo contrast).
I will go with a YES for a GREEN sticker.

It’s a nice proof, for sure. I’ll go with a solid grade green sticker.

    No bean on the Barber.

I honestly don't know how JA feels about fingerprints, but some of those areas look like permanent damage bordering on corrosion.

Proofs are tough. I don't see any issues here but others think there might be problems. I don't know.

I'll guess GREEN on this one.

Last chance. I'll post it in about an hour.

When I first read your response I thought you said "no bean on the Barbie". I think I need better glasses.

I personally wouldn't put beans on the barbie, but I'm not a huge fan of the beans. My roommate's grill has one of those side burners for the beans, but I've never used it. I'd much rather have corn on the cob, or broccoli or something.

Did you talk to JA about the reason why? Or did you buy it knowing it hadn't bean'ed?

I knew it up front. Didn't bother me. You probably looked at the coin at Fun. I took it there twice. Todd imaged it the first time and Messydesk the second.

Since no one has stepped forward, I'll give it a go. A 1857 Liberty Seated dime, PCGS MS-64. The second photo of the obverse is a little brighter lighting (sorry the focus is off a bit) just to show the surfaces off a little better. Did it bean? Somehow I expect some lively chatter on this one. BTW, it's an F-113, R3. DSC_1033.jpg

OK, I must have missed it. What was the reason for the failure on that proof? Just curious...

I think the speculation on the reasoning is what Physicsfan wrote:

*Note: I'll update summary info after the dime posted by @Publius2

My thinking is that the dime is original, solid for the grade, and JA liked it enough to say YES for a GREEN sticker.

I'm not a fan of the look but I've seen coins that looked so-so or even unattractive to my eye sticker before (quite a few among classic commemoratives).

On the dime - could some of that be dip residue? My gut says no sticker.

I'll go no bean on the dime. It looks like it had an old cleaning, just like I need.

I'll go with yes on the bean. I like the coin.
