    That is strange.

    Could be damage.
    Or a new variety.

Another odd thing I noticed is the 0 of 1990- doesnt the shape look weird? It should be a perfectly curved 0 on the inside but it’s not...

Lol this hobby sucks. I’m starting to feel like anything I find is automatically not a variety simply because I found it.

It's not a variety because 99.99% of the coins you look at will not be varieties. Just the name of the game friend.

Hang in there! If it was easy everyone would be doing it and the coins would be worthless. This is a treasure hunt. Most treasure hunters never find anything. The best part is you get to learn history, have a good time doing it and meet some fantastic folks!

Exactly. I am sitting on my 700th box of cents to be searched down in my basement rn. I've found quite a few errors and varieties. But they certainly are not common. Perseverance and searching a ton is the key.

You're right, the bottom of the 0 seems to veer off to the right.

Even small things like minor chips aren't that easy to find. The more you know about the minting and die making process, the easier they will be to recognize. It takes time, but that's the best way to avoid finding junk.

Www.doubleddie.com has a section on the process. It takes some study, but it's worth it if you're interested in errors
