    Hello all,

I recently picked up this 20c piece. Yes It appears to have been cleaned, but I thought it had great details!
Anyways, after I received it I noticed what looks like a die break on the reverse. My question is, is the large blob part of the die break?

Affirmative. In fact, your coin appears to be a retained cud, with the die break returning to the rim between the T & E in UNITED.

I assume this die state is already catalogued by Lane Brunner & John Frost of the LSCC, but I don't know for sure. You might try following up with one of them . . . info@doubledimes.com

There are several die cracks there that have developed at least three small internal die breaks between them.

It also looks like a is a very fine die crack from the rim to the outermost star point across the star and then from the innermost point to the wing by the first heavier crack. This crack shows best wher it runs across the dentical and then the outer star point.
