It's about time! We've been waiting more than two years for you to post something. Let's see some coins! Oh, and welcome to the neighborhood! ~ Chris
Hello. Welcome. It took two years to post like Chirs said soooooo post a picture of a coin. It easy, pull some change out of you pocket and take a picture and upload it for everyone to see...
Hi I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong group but I am new to this. I have recently pulled out my old coin collection for my son to carry on with and have found a 1937 silver penny, George vi with a britannia with shield reverse. Is this a real coin as all my other ones are copper?
Hi @Elizabeth Chapman welcome to CT. Copper coins that appear to be silver or gold are usually the result of a chemistry experiment where the student deposits a layer of zinc on the surface. If you shine this up, you have a "silver" penny or if you heat it up so the zinc layer alloys with the copper you have a "gold" (actually brass) penny. For future posts, it would be better to make your own post.
