1963-D lincoln DDO, FS#1-025.8 Breen 2241

    This is a nice 1963D DDO ( 1-0-VIII) Primary Pickup Point is the double "3".
    estimated 1000-2000. Later die states don't show the lower leg of the "3".

  3. Jim, that is a nice find! I see the mid-section, and just a shadow of the lower part, but It is there!

    I also see some doubling on the mouth area, as well as the bow tie area when i zoomed in,is that listed in that variety just curious Jim ? NICE ONE Jazzcoins Joe :)

    That looks like the one!
    Nice find, however, don't trust Breen's estimates of mintages.

    He was known for just making up 'facts' whenever he felt like it.

    Hi Joe, Yes the bow tie area and the surrounding are often mentioned too, but to a lesser extent. Good observations! The 3 is just the primary point. I see quite a few of these on ebay at "reasonable" prices, although the pricing has been increasing rather rapidly in last 6 months. Breen was a very interesting ( and not all in a good way) person. However, one can not but give credit to his extensive research.
