Well, about a month ago, Spock drops me a PM suggesting that it would be in my best interest if I purchase the coin below. Taking him on his word, I bought the coin. Knowing Spock, I found it very hard that he would steer me in the wrong direction. So for one month, I debated on whether or not I made the right decision with this purchase. Well, it came in yesterday and I am very pleased. It possibly qualifies as the smallest coin in my collection. It is the size of a US silver 3 cent piece. It is only 1.24g of .999 22kt gold and has a diameter of 13.9mm. It is a 1 pound proof coin. Not a thick piece either as expected. Just a very unique peice to commemorate the final flight of the Concorde. I like it.
Very nice coin Joe, I like it. The only coin I possess from from the British Isles is a Britannia 2 pound bullion piece that I got in the Legacies of Freedom set from the US Mint. Our UK friends produce some very nice coins indeed.
I don't like it I love it what a cool coin i really love the obverse the design is cool. I would like to get this one myself nice one yes:thumb: ,and gold to boot good choice Joe.:thumb: I'm giving you two thumbs up for this one Jazzcoins Joe:whistle:
Spock also sent that to me and he thought it was the bigger coin and when I pointed it out to him that it was the tiny one, he was like . . . Oh . . . Nevermind. :goofer: I guess he forgot who all he sent the message to? Ribbit Ps: Or did you back "That one!" in the recent election that ousted him off the throne?
He did point that out to me, but I still went with it. I actually tried to cancel the order because I wanted something else, but I was too late. In the end I was pleased with what I received and glad that I got it.
He had to move out of Chicago , he'll be back online in a while , hopefully in not to long . Spock and me went to the coin shop in Chicago , saved me a lot of money , every coin I wanted to buy he showed me why I shouldn't buy it , he knows his coins , steered me to a nice San Diego Commemerative , 1st time I left that shop with most of my money , the people behind the counter weren't to pleased , wish he was still here . rzage:smile:hatch::hammer:
I want to go visit him. I think it would be kewl to hang with him on his turf. :thumb: I hope he gets settled in and reconnected! Ribbit
Where's he moving to Rzage? You don't have to be too specific...just enough so we can drop a bomb on him.
Spocks pretty secretive Maybe he's afraid of someone dropping a bomb on him after all he is a king . rzage:hatch::hammer:
Spock did add a certain flavor to CT , so Joe did you send me that conterfeit 1/4 oz. you won , I'm sure you don't want it in your collection ?:hail::whistle: rzage:hatch::hammer:
Can anyone take a look at this coin and tell me what the marks are that I see on the obverse rim and reverse rim. The obverse mark is located at about 11 o'clock and the reverse mark is located at about 1 oclock. Are these strike throughs of some sort or something else? Thanks.
That stinks. I have noticed that on a small coin like this, even the smallest marks really stand out.
