Reminds me of an old college roomy of mine who smoked Marlboro reds and had to have the exact same number of cigarettes in his pack as number of matches in his matchbook. Windy days drove him to near madness . Yes, great idea and a great house, C-B-D! The house looks like it could weather an F-3 tornado.
I had someone come by and do that on my property a few years ago. He agreed to split 50/50 whatever he found that was valuable. This was a Civil War Battlefield. The Battle of Hanging Rock. He found a 2 liner bullet and gifted it to me for free. Looked like it was fired but only hit dirt. Now, another man came by after that and showed me what he found up in the hills above my house (not my property) he found bullets and buttons galore! As for the 2 liner? It is going in the shadowbox beneath the coins.
I had a relative fight under Gen. Jubal Early. But not in this battle. He was taken prisoner by the Union and sent to NY for about 6 years.
This is very neat! I lived in a couple homes that's were built the early 1900s. congrats on the move!
I want to extend a very special "thank you" to @Mountain Man for his kind and gracious gift of a better, AU buffalo nickel. It definitely helps my 1925-P AU/BU tribute set look better as a whole. I particularly like how it "transitions" the color of the silver coins into the reddish brown Lincoln. Anyway, I took the time to take professional shots of each coin. Enjoy! Oh, and I found a nice little surprise: The Stone Mountain is a Doubled Die Obverse.
Since I can only “like” that post one time, I extend an extra “like” to mountainman for his generosity.
Your photo reminds me of the one I put together for my mother showing her birth year set. These things mean something to us beyond the coins. They let the coins participate in a larger meaningful event. It’s a good thing to put together something like you have. I know this one was appreciated when I had it professionally printed and framed. I also gave her the actual set and put one together for myself. It gave us something in common we could share.
If someone would send me a 1916-D Merc or a 1916 SLQ so I can complete my late mother's birth year set I'd like them a whole lot more than that!
