What is your most treasured coin in you entire collection? It could be because of its value, or because it means something to you. Looking forward to your responses. I'll post mine soon! :)

Great topic, I guess we can expect to see some very nice coins :)

She’s not the most valuable coin, but if I had to pick one, she’d be my favorite:

My dad found this in the dirt after winter when he was raking the dirt driveways ruts out. That was back in the 80's. My dad thought it was somw kind of token. He showed it to his dad (coin collector) and he said it was a really old quarter. My dad thought it was really cool, and so he started a small coin collection. That coin collection has been passed to me. So, it's kind of like a family heir loom. And it's rare too!

Here's mine. It's a German Empire 1908-D 25 pfennig pattern (Schaaf-18/G30). Coin is grade PF65RB and has lovely toning. The photo doesn't do it justice.

This is a favorite coin due to the fact that I have learned so much from it.

Look at this! A Schaaf pattern, one my favorite German Empire “coins”... and I thought people would only post toned Morgans and key date Lincoln cents.

I have more than one favorite. In fact, I have more than ten favorites, but I'll keep it to only a few here.

I have posted this one a lot recently, but it's my absolute favorite - a 1903 Meiji Dragon in MS 61.

I also really like this 1914-D Barber quarter in MS 62 because it probably closely resembles what a Barber would have looked like in 1914 when buying a drink or a meal or just flipping it in the air. It was probably a decent amount of money then. It's my favorite.

The amazing design on this gold Mexican 20 Peso can hypnotize the viewer and is also my favorite.

This, my earliest US coin, though not in incredible shape, is also my favorite. Who isn't a sucker for edge lettering?

I have other favorites, but I'll stop there...

I actually have a few. I have a Schaaf-18/G27 with even better toning (I could post a photo if you want me to...but the 18/G30 is my favorite so I posted that one). I have 4 German patterns and they are my favorite thing to collect.

My favorite is probably the 1935 Connecticut Tercentenary Half Dollar that my parents got me as a college graduation gift last year. This is my favorite design for a US commemorative coin, and it has very nice original light gold toning. It’s graded MS64 by NGC and has a green CAC sticker, though I don’t think that’s a big factor for why I like the coin.

So far, my favorite coin that I have is a bicentennial quarter that I got out of the change machine at the local car wash a year or two back. Obviously it started out as a proof that somehow, some way or the other ended up in general circulation. 6.jpeg 5.jpeg 2.jpeg

My 'favorite' would be the 1917 Lincoln that I got in change from an Arby's, in 1969, when I was 10. I think I traded it for baseball cards, or got separated from it amidst familial (parents' divorce) issues ?

I don't know what made me look at the change, but the hook was set (no pic ; I think battery was dead on iPhone that day ;) )
