I found this Lincoln while roll searching. It is either an '86 or '96, the third numeral is gone. Anyway this coin definitely has a hole. Not sure what ate it away but it tooks it's toll.
I know zink is a sacraficial metal, but it took the copper with it this time! This one is the most severe case of coin rot I have pulled from a roll.
Because of electrolysis with dissimilar metals, they'd be better off not copper coating them and just having zinc pennies, plus, it would cost less. With that one, it looks like it was found on a salt water beach somewhere and shouldn't have been put back into circulation. When I used to beach comb with my MD, I found lots of pennies and the zinc ones were never good enough to spend so I'd toss them out into the ocean to let them finish dissolving. Ribbit
Wow nice find did you get that in a roll I would say MS 71 but:eat: to bad the hole was there otherwise it would have graded a ms74. Congrates on the:eating: Jazzcoins Joe
