Going through father in laws house this morning now we can travel within the province, was a bit worried because the pool hadn't been filled for about 8 weeks and the garden would be a jungle by now. Anyway, emptying a draw in his study i came across this. There doesn't seem to be much info about them so wondered if any of you are familiar with them. Even though it has the appearance of a proof finish there are no assay marks on either side or the edge. This one was obviously made for the German market and was in a plastic wallet with the certificate of authenticity. Other than that i know absolutely nothing about them. Where they were struck, what the metal composition is etc.
Over to you most knowledgeable people

Yes, it's proving a bit of a challenge. I have e-mailed the dealer who sold it hoping they can match the serial number of the cerificate to the specific medal, but unfortunately they are still closed due to the virus restrictions in Germany. It appears there was a set with 12 or so each depicting a different sporting discipline, including the discus thrower, but not having a certificate or serial number, so the only example like this on e-bay was probably separated from a set..
This one was produced singularly with it's own certificate of authenticity and serial number.
