I can no longer do anything about this seller and Mike has given up on Ebay giving a hoot about fraud, but one of our fellow collectors has been bamboozled with the idea of owning a authentic CGF and I'm not happy about it and I'm hoping you won't be either. Please report it to Ebay and if you feel "froggie" or "toadie" message the seller and politely let him know what you think of someone like him! :whistle: It also wouldn't hurt to let him know he's been reported as being a charlatan. A letter reporting this individual to the Secret Service will go a long way to putting this counterfeiter to bed. Even possible in a cell with a new loving companion. Inform this seller with an email and a forward sent to the Secret Service so to not cause any surprises and the statement, "I didn't know this was a replica"

California Gold Fractionals... one of the riskiest areas of the US series. Tons of phonies, hard to find info. Worse - since the real ones have such a myriad of designs and poor workmanship, it's easy to craft a bogus piece for sale. It's so sad, because many of the phonies were not made to fool anybody. My understanding is some of them were souvenirs many years ago, and the contemporary buyers knew what they were getting, and paid appropriately. In addition, I'm sure there are many that were made for nefarious purpose.
