I have this 1916 buffalo nickel with what appears to be machine doubling on the date. There's also a lamination crack/peel starting at the rim and traveling down to the forehead. Is this type of doubling uncommon in this series?
You may have the 1916 ddo 002 you'll need to id in hand as I cannot from your images. I can tell you that it has lamination issues .
Your link didn't copy correctly: http://varietyvista.com/03 Buffalo Nickels/1916PDDO002.htm But no, I don't think we have a bingo. The DDO-002 is described as doubling of the eye and nose, not the date. The date shows pretty much no doubling. Additionally, there appears to be no doubling of the L in Liberty. This coin, however, appears to show machine doubling on the date and Liberty. Unfortunately, I don't think this one is the DDO.
