I asked to see the date as there are several cracks that run from star 1 to the bust tip down the base into the date. Makes for easy I'd as to variety if memory serves me both N/C & Cents both have the cracks.
I didn’t know there are varieties with Liberty Nickels. Got it way below book, as a type coin. Considering collecting Liberty Nickel proofs, as they are uncommon but not rare, and reasonable cost for an attractive MS. Coin.
There are varieties in every series just about.... the liberty nickel was the mint next attemp to coin a needed denomination in an alloy that #1 was other than silver,and #2 would hold up to the test of time. And...one other potical reason as a nickel mine was owned by a sorce close to the decision making process... makes sense to me.duh. But again Liberty nickels thiner,but still a hard blank to strike. And what seems to be a pattern durring this time peroid of years of huge mintages...and others in the thousands. Ex. The 3 cent nickel.
