thanks, i wouldn't consider it nice though, it's in the works though.

yeah, reinventing my inner-collector, figured this would be a most excellent place to start.

Does anyone recommend a Lincoln folder to organize and show off their set?

That sure is a good place to start.
I have to take a more aggressive approach because I shop very little and most of the coins I find in change seem to be ones I have already rejected and turned into the bank. We live in a very small town..
I am using both the Whitman folder and the W.E. Harris folder for the Lincolns I am collecting for my four grandkids.
For my own collections I have invested in Dansco albums. I know others who do not like the Danscos and are using the Intercept brand.
Or, like a lot of us who are stashing away the extras, cardboard flips seem to suffice for the ordinary coins. Then there capsules which can protect the coin better, but are more difficult to store... in my opinion.
By the way, I would take a very close look at your 42d cent if it were mine.
If I am not mistaken it could be an error coin, i.e., 1942D-1MM-002. Look it over carefully, if you see a small raised area shaped like the top of a 'D' just above the mint mark, then chances are it is this error variety.
You can compare yours with the same type of coin by going to coppercoins.com ... it is a great site to check out Lincoln errors.
All the others are really good. But that 1911 from pocket change? Wow!

    Not to toss names around...
    try valleycoin.com.
This is one of the ebay sellers that I found and have since switched to reality... er, I mean to a real internet site for certain coin products.

i set aside the better of each date i find, the rest i have separate paper rolls for, i put the better ones in the capsules i already had. All three wheat cents surprised me, all in one day, before that i only had 1 1937 in a 2x2.

*didn't know there was that many die-error varieties for this date, i'm really sure it's just an ordinary strike.

doesn't help that much, still cant see anything though

**there is a score of 1959D on ebay MS66RD ($45) MS67RD listed $540?!? did they price it wrong?** I think my example looks better than the MS66RD, opinions on what grade it would make (i was gonna say MS62)

As far as I know it is nearly impossible to get an MS (mint state) grade from a circulating coin, or even bank rolls of uncirculated. However, as far as a circulating grade you would need to look at the book 'Photograde', which is one book have within reach when I am determining what grade a coin needs to be for my album.

The 42d, sometimes the mark above the D is worn, or dirty and can barely be seen.
I still cannot be sure if it should or should not get the special designation. I don't know how many error coins I have passed up that I couldn't see the mark(s), only to go back a year later and research the coin and find it.
Good luck on this endeavor! Keep on posting!

Great thanks, ill have to pic that up next time im up at borders....i was looking at the Intercept Folders, really nice, when i get enough Lincolns i will get one.
Unfortunately im going to have to take a break, im leaving for a few weeks and I only have a week or so to prepare (photo recording my foreign change on omnicoin), but i plan to get a box o' pennies at the bank when i get back (if they even have one), but i will stay active more than likely in the world coin section (got some great pics) until my return, cheers and thanks again.

    Downloaded a PDF basic list for Lincoln Cents, after about 2 weeks into it and only 10 rolls i only have 4 left to go;

    1959
    1963
    1964
    1972 S

Guess it's on to the Proofs next, only have a 68' proof set, it would be nice to have em' graded and slabbed, but i suppose i can buy slabs for em if i can find some good single proofs at the the coin shop.

    **Question**

I also found a 2000 S PF cent (NGS too) that is graded MS 69 RD. Ultra Cameo, but comparing it to the 2008 S, i could'nt disagree more. I assume that this is the product of toning. It is still a great coin however, I'm satisfied, but i was wondering if this will retain the same value as the coin with the actual cameo

I'm not really sure I understand your question, a non cameo, or cameo Proof will never retain the value that a Deep/Ultra Cameo Proof does.

yeah, sorry about that, i was in a hurry.

I was wondering if the 2000 S that has lost its cameo (even though its graded PF 69 Ultra Cameo) will be worth as much as the 2008 S with the actual Ultra Cameo, thanks.

I see there is a difference in the pics, but I chalked that up to the pics themselves. Coin's don't lose cameo, it's either there or it's not. The only way they could lose it is if it was worn off - and I don't see that happening.

So, I assume you have these coins in hand - yes ? And you think that there is no cameo on the 2000 coin ? Who slabbed it ?
