Question regarding Virginia scrip

    Was looking over this Grayson County note and noticed the last letter in "Grayson" is inverted, making it appear as "Graysou"

    Is this a known variety? Others I see are with the correct spelling.

    That’s interesting. I’ve also seen examples with correct spelling in both $1.00 and 50 cent denominations. Is the note yours @Savoyspecial ?

    @SteveInTampa It is part of a collection that the company I work for will be bringing to auction.

    Maybe @lettow will see this thread and know something about them. In the meantime, I sent a photo of your note along with a normal note to a friend that specializes in scrip.
