Today my dad and i went to a chevy chase bank in virginia. We asked the teller if he had any bison nickel rolls. He replied and said i had a present for you because we to go the bank often to ask for nickels. He then pulled out 13 Bison Nickel rolls on the table. I was so excited to finally find some bison's for 2$ a roll. I was wondering has anybody else had any luck at the bank's for Bison Nickel rolls and the California Quarter rolls to?
Went to the bank yesterday afternoon and asked if they had the new nickels yet. The teller said how many would I like. I said $10.00 worth please. She then said there was a limit of 2 rolls per customer. So I said, then I'll have 2 rolls. Why did she ask me how many I wanted? Anyway, I opened one roll last night and every coin (except for one) was pretty much beat up. I was very disappointed Next time I go back to the bank, I'll ask for some more. Maybe I can get more than 2 rolls
While cash my check today at the bank I asked the teller about the nickels. She said they received 100 rolls yesterday and there were only 3 rolls left. Wow, seems I wasn't the only one in town that wanted some. I forced myself to buy those 3 rolls. Now what to do with them??
It's so sad how the mint doesnt put any pride into the care of their coins any more. They probly figure that most will just be worn out in circulation anyways so what's it matter if they get dinged to death.
Why not spend them, they were intended to be placed into circulation. Make someones day a little brighter for finding it in their change.
I had them for a few weeks now...and I've had the CA quarters longer than that...we seem to get them fast. They get me as many as I want---one tip...take care of your bankers...and they will take care of you. Speedy
Actually I was thinking of giving (2) rolls to my dad. He ordered some rolls from a magazine add preselling them before they came out. Well, he got ripped off and they never arrived. I thought I'd make his day. The other roll is already in circulation.
Do what I did: I put a couple dozen of them in Air-Tites and mailed them to relatives. One relative is becoming a coin collector now as a result. I took another dozen and handed them out to co-workers. What else can you do for five cents that makes such an impact ?
nickel Well. i called The Bank again today and they had a 50 roll 100$ box of Bison nickels and a 50 500$ roll box of California quarters in. Well later on today we went and got the box of Nickels and 10 Rolls of California's which totaled 200$. Do you think i should of gotten more California quarter when i had the chance to get more?
Well--I don't know how many rolls you shoudl get but I would pick out all of the H/T rolls and sell the others. The H/T rolls seem to sell a lot better and might be better in the long run. Also...are they in the paper rolls?? Speedy
I did the same, I put about 2 rolls in 2X2's and have been handing them out like crazy. I now have a few people bringing me coins they found in there change for me to look at for them. Keeping the love of coins alive, worth way more than $.05.
