Just looking at a nice PDS Roosevelt Dime set I have, and I noticed something strange at the back of FDR's neck - now, help me out (I'm really tired and can't decide if it's a cud or die chip or something else) and tell me what classification of mint error this would be: EDIT: Just noticed the 1946 D is the D/D RPM-007 North. What a fun little set.
Good morning and thanks guys. I felt it would be a die chip but for some reason my brain kept telling me not to get too confident. Anyone seen one in this location before? I think it's pretty interesting, and the coin itself was worth keeping even without it due to condition/color.
I think they are related. Perhaps yours is an earlier die crack and mine is a later stage. I've been holding that coin since about 1950 waiting to see if another came up. Thank you for posting it.
I think that's the porthole where the Keebler Elves lived back in the 1940's (before they upgraded to that tree/factory after receiving a New Deal job creation grant.) Haha NOTE: I'm not endorsing/not endorsing any political aspect of the joke and don't wish to offend anyone by my choice of the rational explanation/justification backstory for the absurd part of the joke.
Yep...die chip or a break just starting...looks like way cool NT, too...nice coin...first year for series...Spark
