Ok, so one of my friends made a trip over the summer to the UK and bought me a present, but didn't give it to me or tell me what it was until a couple of days ago. So naturally, when I opened the bag and saw a little ziplock back of coins, I was ECSTATIC. I took them all out (careful to touch only the rims) and found coins from the following nations: Sri Lanka Columbia Argentina Saudi Arabia Italy Greece Ireland Mauritius Isle of Mann Barbados UK US India Indonesia Singapore Croatia Australia Hungary Norway Germany Switzerland Sweden Spain Portugal Canada Mexico China France Morocco Netherlands Hong Kong Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Isle of Jersey Tanzania Zambia East Caribbean States Southern Rhodesia New Zealand Poland United Arab Emirates Qatar Rome Czech Republic South Africa Malta Plenty of Unknowns Probably a total of around 250-300 coins, multiples from several nations. AND GET THIS: There were (at least) FOUR coins in there from the 1800s, from India, Italy, and a couple other countries that escape me right now. But there were tons of early 20th century coins, and even a couple of Wheaties (1920 and 1942). The earliest is from 1834!!!!! From India!!!! Needless to say, I geeked/freaked out. Incredible friend of mine, how thoughtful of her = )
Cool! Coins from the source... very nice of her to drag those around with her while she traveled... good friend there...
Her name and address please plus a good photo if you could send it.. LOL.... I could do with a friend like that myself. Best wishes, Mike.
That's a great haul, and a very considerate friend. Post pics of the unknowns if you want some help with ID's.
