liberty seated dime....error or not... I'm not sure what date it is

    looks like there are next to the date.... just got my microscope... but looks like there are arrows....date though looks repunched.

    That looks like it was in a piece of jewelry. I think everything you are seeing is solder.

    It does look like added metal. Odd that it would be on the date, but it appears at the 6/12 o'clock positions on the Obverse/Reverse.

    @Strike Vader the second 8 appears to be a 3 that took a hit or is obliterated by some added metal. Have a new look; can you make out a 3 as Paddy suggests? I think I see it.

    With arrows at the date and USA on the rev it can only be 1853, 54, or 55. The last digit clearly isn't a 4 or 5, so it's an 1853.
