I wish we could get them in change when we go to the rez for smokes and gas. The indian rez always give you some sacajawea dollars in change. I Find that kinda cool

My first 5 years of metal detecting yielded zero IHs and I desperately wanted one. One day a very attractive lady wanted to learn about metal detecting and we talked for a while and then she said she wanted to see me “in action”. I pulled a machine out of the trunk and went to the curb strip in front of her house.
I told her we might find a penny and BAM! a penny signal. It was up against the sidewalk and so shallow I could see it’s outline. I plucked it up and wiped it off and gave it to her, saying it was her first buried treasure.
She looked at it and said, “Cool! 1887!” I replied, “You must mean 1987.” She said, “Nope!”
My first IH (and it was a beaut!) and I gave it away.

I have found a couple dozen since then including a nice 1864 fatty

But, Chip, what was the "rest of the story" with the lady?
