Green for sure but I'll vote gold. It looks great in that old holder.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I see traces of wear so I don't think its MS.

But I could see it at 58+.

Does that make it gold? I don't know. I'm going to vote green.

I'll say green - there appears to be a little corrosion on the rim that bleeds over to 1:00 on the obverse, and some scratches here and there.

I think it got the gold. Where's the wear?

I'm giving it a gold. I think I see some rubs on obverse and reverse but not enough to make it a 55 under current standards. So, a 58+. I'm running neck and neck with @wxcoin on my record.

@wxcoin get that bug ready :p

This one baffled me as it failed to sticker.
To me it looked like an UNC coin, but CAC didn't even see it as a "B" coin at 55. It's a strange coin overall. An AU 55 common date Mercury Dime was an odd choice to send in to be graded-especially in the rattler era.

Note: if we don’t know the status of a coin before the reveal and more people say green CAC for a gold CAC coin, then it will go in the area of “Gold CAC on coin but should only be Green” ....see round 3 as the example case

    *
Rd. 10 was 4-4...I interpreted that CircCam would consider it a no (based on a similar example), which swayed the overall vote to a lean towards no.
Rd. 13 was tied between green and gold at 4-4...I interpreted that geekpryde would consider it a gold

Goodbye friends. I always knew a TSE would be the end of me; I just didn't know it would come at the hand of my overconfidence in CAC's ability to designate premium quality coinage.

There's no way that that merc is an AU 55 coin. Even after a few drinks it looks good. Wait, I think I found my problem.

That experience (along with the Morgan from round 8 that I saw as a gold cac too) convinced me that trying to make a gold CAC wasn't for me. To be fair, I did get two golds, but those coins seemed less obvious to me than these two (I won't post them here as both were proof Franklins and proof coins are basically impossible to grade from photos).

I am flabbergasted by the Merc failing to even get a green. I understand my wife's cats better than I understand CAC.

Bizzaro World! I guess one needs to see the coin in hand but from the photo it looked at the very least worse case no-brainer Green. Weird.

    Who be next?

I saw it in hand and so did my friend who helped send it in. We were both surprised.

    And the floor is open...

It’s solid, but a study of Photograde says no bean to me, though it’s close.
