My local library had that book when I was younger. A fascinating book, even if it is a little old.

I have a thing for dark toning that turns into rainbows.

oh that’s pretty. It’s hard to find these old proofs without out really ugly spots and toning.

I liked the rim toning, but the blotches, not so much.

My googling skills have let me down. :p
I found plenty of items that sold from that collection but no further details. My best guess is that it was just a name for a collection of tokens that a collector picked (it does appear to be a large and extensive collection).

I’ve built slabbed proof sets 1938 through 1956. I had a blast selecting the coins.

1 1943-D, 3-pence, ms-60? with a slight spot, got it for 5.70 ebay...kind of found it after i already won an ms-65 slabbed one for about 5 times that price, was checking on value for coin, when found this lil guy needing a home for a reasonable price...so..now i guess i collect world silver, lol(at least the Aussie 95796638_2917533651668290_3859266172608315392_n.jpg 96430970_264033974723867_1912210570795286528_n.jpg version)

AND...if i can get an opinion on this coin (damage already done bought it for 23.00)..anyways was advertised as: 95-P Lincoln memorial cent double struck both sides, thick rim mint error...so, on the reverse there is some doubling, more so with obv. and date, Lincoln's bust front facing, and all the lettering on the front as well, the rim is quite thick, almost like a proof coin's would be..slight split rail rim also on rear, 95259119_570742043569406_5216988575635079168_n.jpg 95830935_381113296107971_2010351475452018688_n.jpg 95961919_696476181100293_4947796990642618368_n.jpg 96111944_3530669603616710_7607655221849751552_n.jpg 96242114_669453973873951_5722182738027479040_n.jpg one cent is all doubled. split railroad rim on front as well..so, what do you guys think?? worth the money?? machine doubling?/, all i know is i have not seen one like it for sale , just opening a jumbo can o worms here, lol
