Here's the latest addition to my large cent collection.... Please guess the grade ANACS assigned to the coin, and if your own grade differs, please also include that. Comments on the coin (both good AND bad) are welcomed. Have fun...Mike p.s. bonus points for attribution.
Heh...my skills aren't that great from pics...but I sure do love the look of her...Liberty Caps are my favs...
I would say overall G-4 with VG 8 details. Some would say ungradeable because of the gouges/dents mostly on the reverse. Some minor pitting and maybe see a little green corrosion? It is a very beautiful coin, I wish I had one.
My grade is VG-8, ANACS VG-8 It shows elements of FINE and AG both, better planchet despite issues with pitting, just softly struck. A net VG. Primo coin again Leadfoot, you never cease to amaze !!!
That is a horrible strike and I believe that most of the detail is missing due to the strike. I would guess that ANACS called it either 15 or 20.
Me and toad talking on the phone - S21. I am going with F12, but not netted out. I think the pitting and other little flaws are in the planchet(besides the obvious weak strike). Beautiful coin!!
That is one ugly LCC! Mark and I agree it's a S-21 Flat Pole Variety and I give the obverse a F-12 to F-15 and the Reverse a G-6 and overall, a F-10 to F-12. :thumb: Delectable! :eat: Ribbit
AG is 3 or less G is 4 to 7 VG = 8 to 11 Or thereabouts. So if you give it a "8" it has to be VG but you can add clarifiers, such as scratched, corroded, etc.... Ribbit
This coin makes a good first impression. It is not a Large Cent, which like so many others first elicits an "Ugh!" as first impression. The surfaces appear relatively smooth, and the color is nice and uniform. As many have pointed out the Obverse is quite appealing grading about F12-F15. The reverse is surprisingly weakly struck an would grade it G4-G6, with some hits. Overall i would grade this coin a good solid VG8. Nice coin and one i would also like to have. Eduard
like the movie 10 The photo looks VG8 to F12. The soft strike & contacts may keep it from getting a market grade of F12. I'd say it is a 10. Not a net 10, just a 10. Very best regards, collect89
