I tend to buy bullion low so I haven't seen great losses yet on gold... I'm very glad I didn't buy loads of platinum (or any, for that matter). I'm sure I've lost $$ on silver, but not enough to bang my head on the wall :headbang: <-- like that.

What goes down eventually comes up. If it doesn't, we probably have much bigger things to worry about.

Trust is the big thing that has been lost. Many will never delve into the markets again , unless they are paid in stock
    i.e. 401K .
As long as we are not in control of our oil supply we will not be able to gauge commodity prices , or the markets.
If we change our form or Government with out approval from ALL we will never be able to trust a word or deed from anyone in power.
To let these companies go broke would have been instant payback, but it is not just us, it is the rest of the world who followed.
Trust is earned, and you will never believe another commercial for a money institution. They should take the ad budgets and use them to pay back WE THE PEOPLE.

Quite a mixed bag with the asian markets though Hang seng up dramaticly but the korean is taking a nose dive, currency's are also fluctuating so it could be a good time to look at buying coins and notes from overseas for some people :smile Sterling has made some gains against the dollar so I might be looking at buying from the US again soon.

    I hope

    I like your outlook !
It might take a bit more then that to get things going, though.
Typically if a company posts a bad quarter, they will post two to three more, before things get turned around. If you have some betting money look for some good stocks you like for whoever wins the election.
There will be sectors like drugs companies , in the generic
area that wiill do well if Obama wins.
Oil drillers and rig renters if McCain is elected.
Gold should be OK until the markets turn. That could be as late as this time next year. There are no profits to carry the market. These are bear rallies, and hedge fund selling for the opposite effect.
Some believe gold has an upswing for the next 18-24 months. That is due to costs for deep drilling and consolidation in Africa.

:thumb: I think the coin market was due to soften somewhat anyway regardless of the economy. If it didn't I think a balloon bursting was in our future. So it is probably a good thing that it softens a little for awhile. It would be nice if some great buying opportunites would start to appear occasionally. I certainly agree with whoever said a lot of people have lost faith in the stock market. It seems as though it has been a roller coaster for the last few years. A good coin market is collector driven and not investor driven and we have had a good collector driven market. The big problem with the stock market IMHO is it needs more investors and not just buyers & sellers. But this is also a sign of our current times= fast pace, wham-bam, very little disposable time, quick in & out.
