AJ, these aren't coins, but I do have a few tokens with trains on them. The first is the 100th anniversary token of the town I live in. The railroad founded the town in 1883. The second is a token is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the company I work for, the santa Fe Railroad (now the BNSF Railway) in 1968. Both pretty neat tokens with trains. Guy~
I don't have any "coins" with trains on them...but I do have a couple different train tokens. Unfortunately, they are back home (I'm away at school right now). I did a quick internet search and found one that I do have..so I thought I would post a picture of it:
There are a few Russian coins that commemorate trains and the metro. In 1994, Russia commemorated the 100th Anniversary of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Mongolia has also struck coins to commemorate this event. Albania put out a really cool coin ca. 1988 or 1989 that had a steam locomotive on one side, and an electric locomotive on the other side. There was a hole in the piece, where the tunnel the train was in opened up. I think the piece got a COTY or Coin Of The Year award ca. 1990.

Here's another...but I suppose it's not a true coin though. It was a design submitted for Nevada's 2006 state quarter. I absolutely love this design and think it is much better than the one they picked.
Hello Guy's... AJ loved the images thus far and I appreciate the images you have taken the time to post! He is in bed at the moment but we scanned his train coin tonight and I promised I would post it fo you to see. He will see it before he goes to school in the AM. Regards to all... RickieB

Things like that are picked up by tourists and taken back home and prior to Ebay, they pretty much stayed in a drawer somewhere, hidden for all time. But Ebay has brought out many wonderful oddities, that would have never surfaced before. :thumb: I run across so many interesting US items in foreign Ebays and wonder how they got there? Ribbit
A couple of collector coins from Austria (2007 and 2008) dealing with the history of Austrian railways ... Christian
