The 4 top side aswell has two points. The left side also looks like an extra mark on there. Theres cases of D/S i dont think this is one of them though. I keep cracking my head on this one. Im thinking RPM. I think... lol
Don't do that.. You will get a concussion! Some advice. Why don't you just ask one simple question.. Is this a RPM? Also.. No need for a poll and 2 exact same pictures. Think of this.. What could happen to a Cent in 76 years since it was minted? Some are Circulation wear and Environmental damage. Edited
76 years Mr. P.! @Youngmaster - I think you should stop looking for errors when you don't have the slightest idea what they are.
Carefully ponder your comments and/or questions. It will go a long way in getting you answers. This is the 'voice of experience'.
PMD, post mint damage, not a mint error of any kind. As stated, learn about errors before asking if you have one. This forum is full of useful information so do some research. If you magnify any coin enough, you will find, or think you find, errors and drive yourself crazy. Also, take well focused photos that are cropped to show just the entire obverse and reverse of your coin and then close ups of any areas of question. After uploading the photos, click on FULL IMAGE and you'll get better responses, IMHO.
Well my thoughts were all over about this one... I feel i do know about errors. I dont have experience so i ask here if thats alright with you all... Thanks for all your responses. Im still learning about taking pictures here as you my find out and about errors. again thanks. Im trying to get the hang of it so if you wish to not comment thats also an option for those who want to help any help is appreciated.
Don't let what may appear to be harsh answers get under your skin. Some members want meat and potatoes, ie. photos of the coin, obverse and reverse plus close-ups of the area in question and last, the question you are asking about the coin. Stick with these and you will gain knowledge and respect. Good luck.
Thanks well I am currently on a 1951 atm but nothing is in question for now im just looking at it for now. ill be scanning alot right now. Through so many coins i have but I had to start somewhere and went with whatever year i had infront of me. So im just checking random ones atm.
The first time I found what I thought was a Mint error, I told myself that I needed to learn more about errors. What better way to learn about errors than to read up on them. So, I bought Alan Herbert's book to at least know what some errors were called. https://www.ebay.com/i/254576062805?chn=ps If you "post them as you find them" you're going to spend a long, long time learning what most of them are even called, and you're also going to waste a lot of time asking about coins that are nothing more than circulation wear & tear and/or post-mint damage. ~ Chris
I have been collecting and selling coins for over 50 yrs. and cannot ever remember reading a book about coin errors, but I WISH I HAD because it would have saved me a lot of time and grief. I write for the pleasure of writing and have found there is no substitute for research. I agree with Chris. Get a book or two on the subject(s) you are interested in and consult them while you search through your coins. A little knowledge goes a long way and lots of knowledge...
