Some of you collect the best you can afford of a certain coin denomination. As your collection grew and you began to search to find needed coins, you came across descriptions such as AT, PL, DPL, Cameo, UDM, BU, Proof, UNC, toned, DMPL, etc. Most of you know what UNC, BU and Proof mean, but do you know what those other initials mean and what the coin with that designation really looks like? Maybe the following images will help. (Photos courtesy of Coin Page unless otherwise noted) Because of their size, I'ved chosen to show you photos of Morgan Silver Dollars for this post. I'm only going to present obverse photos of those Morgans which have one the initial descriptions, but because of Coin Page's website equipmernt, you'll be able to see the reverse and an enlargement of the example at a click of your mouse.
