what kind of error is this 1940 p wheat penny

    My call is that it is PMD (Post Mint Damage) due to a harsh cleaning.

    Not sure about the lines. And at this point they do not matter. And the toning is not nice, it is chemically induced from being cleaned. No error. No value above 1¢.

    Just a 70 year old coin that has been in circulation a lot and cleaned.

    Looks like a judgment error (on the part of whomever cleaned the coin). They're very common. No added value.
