I have one somewhere in my collection but I surely don't want to find it right now. Just letting y'all know that this one on the bay right now is a beauty! It's also a really good price but not for me as it's not really the focus of my collection. Maybe in a couple of weeks the price will go down, but I really doubt it! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1888-OLD-V...087292?hash=item5482f1087c:g:UTMAAOSwDVVem0Z3
Now for something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. When metal detecting I happened upon a vacant lot in downtown Houston.(1993) I began digging up Carolina Texas 5¢ 'Good For' brass tokens. Little did I know at the time that no one had ever seen these tokens from an East Texas log mill company. (Went out of business in 1920) Anyway, the Texas token collectors went Bat-s**t crazy for them and they ended up being the most valuable item(s) I found during all my MD days! Addendum: The lot was under construction in 2000 so I re-hunted the area and found 1 - 50¢ token.. Sold it for $200. J.T.
I'll check back in about 6 hours. If this thing sells for anywhere near the sticker price, I'm going to re-evaluate all of my medals. ~ Chris
That's incredible! I always find stories about people finding rare or unheard of tokens metal detecting really fascinating.
A cheroot is a low cost filterless cigar that apparently doesn't taper at either end making it easier to use machines to roll them.
