You will never be 100% positive of the thing that caused this. What difference does it make? It's definitely a strikethrough. That's all you need to know. ~ Chris
When I posted this coin a while back someone said its worth a premium. And I looked on coin community struck through error are worth alot of money
There are many different types of Struck Thru coins. Some bring a higher premium than others. Yours is a common type error. Less premium. http://www.error-ref.com/part-vi-striking-errors/
Premium means more than the market allows for the same grade or similar coin so yes it would bring a Premium to the right buyer. If you think it’s worth thousands... sorry no, it’s only worth what someone will pay. Probably less than 10 bucks in the condition it’s in.
I've been a member for about 6 months or so, and very much enjoy the insight of long-time members, true collectors for the love of collecting. What I've also found is that there are quite a few "non-collectors" who are interested only in "how valuable is my find" and "how much money can I get". Thankfully, Coin Talk is predominately populated by true coin collectors, eager to contribute their "two cents" to any and every topic. Just wanted to thank y'all for giving me the opportunity to learn generally about coin collecting and particularly about the love of collecting is alive and well!
