sigh.. finally did it. Bought a 1999 silver proof set.

I like the toning like this.

I just dont want to pay a premium for it. And I can never tell if it is AT or NT.

as far as natural or doctored, the TPG are good for determining that.

 

That coin is 100% AT and not very pretty IMO. Want pretty, look at my toned Morgan Album. Now back on topic.

I have the 1999 Silver Proof Statehood Quarters. Unfortunately, they reside in PCGS PR69 DCAM slabs which doesn't help me much with this:



Now I have to buy another proof set just to finish this darn thing. How much are they going for again, $300. Think I am gonna wait.

Well well well. I posted here, went to ebay placed a bid on a 1999 silver set and was just notified that I won it. Cost: $257.88 delivered. Current greysheet bid is $275.00. I guess this tells me the market is settling down on these.

 

I watched a set sell for 233.00 a couple weeks ago. The scary thing is, supposedly "money's tight" right now. What happens with these when the economy bounces back? I still don't want to pay that much for these. I'm waiting for 100.00.

 

Very nice, that looks really good. You know what I would do...since you have the slabbed 1999 silver set...you have therefore completed the whole silver proof set. But, you want to fill those holes but not crack your slabs out or fork out $300 for another set. I'd just buy a 1999 clad proof set and throw those in. Sure, the color is a little off...but it will fill the case up and it's not like your cheating since you have the silver coins.

Of course, those clad 1999 sets ain't that cheap either.

 

Boy, I like that suggestion a lot more than restroying a slabbed set. You must have a lot of common cents.(can't believe I said that again). zg:hammer:
