Bored so I broke out the Indian head set. I got to the 1863 and noticed this cud on the rim. I have had this coin for 40 +Years and just now noticed. Does it add any value?

Not sure about the addition to value, maybe a little bit. But it most certainly is a cool find!

If it was a common date one from the 1900's maybe it'd bump it up from $1 to $5, but I'm not so sure on a 1863 if it'd add much to the price since they're already valued higher. Still though, I'd rather have one with the cud than without it.

I found this example on cuds-on-coins.com. I don’t think it’s the same cud on my coin but it was the closest match. 25795D55-3E9A-4E1F-8BD9-B28EC5840755.jpeg 82001799-B3CA-4C72-996E-CAB40FDBDB77.jpeg A4A6B685-85CD-4924-910B-B68C2261D151.jpeg
