I had it down as a low relief, but with only one to look at comparision is tricky. I think the lack of key / tree detail is wear.

Here is a low relief. I don't have a high relief to show you.

Never seen a Dansco for Cuba. I would love to have one.

Appreciated, thank you. Still in the low camp I think. :)

Not coins but seemed relevant to the thread.

You just have to be patient when it comes to watching eBay.

Really like your Cuban collection sonlarson. As a World Coin type collector, I’m in need of the KM 22 (1934-1939 Peso) among the coins shown in your collection in your first post. That is one that will be added to my “Want List”. The 1898 Peso is a rarity. Do you or others in CT happen to have one? Don’t have that one, but I can dream of having one some day.

I bought a pair of those too (a proof and an UNC) but ended up selling as they didn’t really fit my set either. I do like it and it’s a cool coin to have.

Thanks, I am proud of that one. Got it a few years ago. I think I got it from a dealer on Vcoins. Not a lot of options on coins from Cuba. I purchased several from overseas. Germany, Portugal, Spain. Export law from 1962 still in effect. It actually only applies to Cuban coins dated after 1962, but still make it a challenge. This one was not cheap.

Around how much did this coin put you back?

Nice Cubans. I used to accumulate these in low grade - I like the designs. Here is a big 1953 "Marti" peso with an itty-bitty brass 1 centavo (sorry about the upside-down reverse - I wasn't wearing my readers!).

Did you ever notice how bag-marked these pesos often are? It seems they travelled around in bank bags for a long, long time. This one has so many it looks like Marti had a 5 o'clock shadow:

Let's just say it has appreciated since I purchased it.

Here is a link to a dealer I have bought from in the past. I think they are located in Florida. The agent I used was able to find the 40 Centavos for me in about a week.
I don't know if he still works there anymore, it's been a few years.

They have graded and ungraded available.
