    This is not a Meisen piece but I just picked this up from one of my favorite dealers.

    Hitler, Adolf 1889-1945 White porcelain medal 1939 (K.S.E.) Dedication of the Nuremberg school youth by the Mayor of the City of Nuremberg, on the occasion of Adolf Hitler's 50th birthday. Head to the right / 6 lines of writing. Gilded edge.

    Diameter: 88 mm.

    In original cardboard case

    It's interesting how some of the worst dictators in the world, men who made themselves ubiquitous in the lives of their citizens, did not put their faces on coins...like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Saddam ( bills not standard circulation coins).... Hitler seemed like a guy who would want his face on coins but I don't think he was on any save special issue.

    The only coin with Hitler's portrait was a rare pattern. He was on stamps though and collected royalties for the use of his portrait on them so much so that when he died he was one of the richest men in the world!

    He was bankrupt and had absolutely nothing, that is why he committed suicide. He lost everything.

    I don't know about his financial situation when he died but he was a dead man one way or the other. I am more a world war I guy and the Kaiser had his face on everything.

    He just seemed like a guy who wanted his face on everything,, I find it strange he and Stalin who is probably responsible for even more deaths didn't have their faces on the coins.
