Textbook AU-58. Clear rub in the high points and some hints of it in the fields. If NGC graded it higher, then this coin is yet another poor victim of gradeflation
If graded lately, I would grade AU62. I agree with others, this is a coin I would have loved 25 years ago when I loved buying up pretty AU coins. Very lovely coin.
Nice try but no such! I'm giving it a push to MS-60, the wear on the head don't matter as it's a great looking coin otherwise! Just so you know, I've been wrong before but it still gets a 60 in my book!
I find it funny you only give it a 60, when all agree that this is not an uncirculated coin. Pretty sad, huh?
I’d agree with AU62. It’s not an UNC coin and the technical grade is probably AU58, but I guess the label says MS62.
It is a sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek term. Sometimes, you'll find coins graded MS-62 that have a bit of rub on the high points. Just the slightest bit, and it might be hard to see, but it's there. The coin is clearly superior to an ordinary AU-58, but it technically has rub. So, the cynics amongst us (and I am one), call it an "AU-62." Not a real grade, more of an insult.
